Construction Superintendent
The responsibilities of the Construction Superintendent are to oversee the company’s construction operations. Areas to include are safe and proper crew and equipment operations, scheduling, proper aggregate and gradation of materials used, and assist receivables. The Construction Superintendent is responsible for the hiring, discipline, and dismissal of the construction employees. The Construction Superintendent has four foremen directly under him who oversee a specific crew.

Paving Superintendent
The responsibilities of the Paving Superintendent are to oversee the yearly business of the paving operations. Areas to include are safe and proper crew and equipment operations, scheduling, aggregate and gradation coordination with hot plants, and assist receivables. The Paving Superintendent is responsible for the hiring, discipline, and dismissal of the paving employees. The Paving Superintendent has four people directly under him who oversee a specific crew.

Equipment Superintendent
The Equipment Superintendent is responsible for the management of the shop technicians (mechanics and body repairmen) and the tool and parts managers. This position also oversees the unloader personnel and operations in the Aberdeen yard, and the shop and yard maintenance personnel and laborers. The Equipment Superintendent is in charge of equipment maintenance, repairs and costs of operation, and the ongoing training of equipment operators and company safety.

Working Superintendent – Crusher
The Working Superintendent of Crushing is in charge of all the day to day crushing operations in all the current open pits. The responsibilities include overseeing the crushing personnel, overseeing the operation and maintenance of the crushing equipment, and maintaining the production of the aggregates/materials. This position has the responsibility, along with the Safety Director, of ensuring that the company’s safety policies as well as all MSHA and OSHA regulations are being met. This position is a management position that answers directly to the General Manager.

Working Superintendent – Asphalt Production
The Working Superintendent of Asphalt Production is in charge of all the day to day asphalt production operations at the two hot plant locations. The responsibilities include overseeing the personnel of the asphalt production crew, overseeing the operation and maintenance of the hot plants and asphalt production equipment, and maintaining the production of the asphalt/materials. This position has the responsibility, along with the Safety Director, of ensuring that the company’s safety policies as well as all MSHA and OSHA regulations are being met. This position is a management position that answers directly to the General Manager.

Working Superintendent – Paving
The Working Superintendent of Paving is in charge of daily paving projects. The main purpose being to oversee crew performance, work specifications, crew and equipment safety, truck scheduling, and information for billing assistance. This position is a management position that answers directly to the Paving Superintendent daily.

Construction Crew Leader
The Construction Crew Leader is responsible for running equipment at the job site as needed and must have the training and experience to do so. This position must oversee every aspect of the job to include proper elevations; using the correct quantities of materials on the job; proper application of materials, etc.; and maintaining an efficient and productive crew at all times. The Construction Crew Leader must also approve the crew’s time cards and complete daily job reports for every job worked on that day. The Construction Crew Leader is required to promote a safe environment of working conditions for everyone.

Construction Heavy Equipment Operator
The Construction Heavy Equipment Operator must have the training and knowledge to operate and maintain an excavator, dozer, blade, asphalt pulverizer (grinder), and milling machine. The Heavy Equipment Operator must be able to excavate to grade; finish doze to grade; finish blade to grade; pulverize asphalt; and remove and replace culverts and pipes. The Heavy Equipment Operator must also have the knowledge to operate and maintain the light duty construction equipment. All operators are required to conduct their own equipment safety checks daily. At all times the Heavy Equipment Operator must conduct himself and operate his equipment in a safe manner to promote safety for everyone.

Construction Light Duty Equipment Operator
The Construction Light Duty Equipment Operator must have the training and knowledge to operate and maintain a track hoe, mustang, rubber roller, steel roller, tractor and disk, small milling machine (grinder), and power broom. The Light Duty Equipment Operator may also be required to perform functions of the construction laborers as necessary. All operators are required to conduct their own equipment safety checks daily. At all times the Light Duty Equipment Operator must conduct himself and operate his equipment in a safe manner to promote safety for everyone.

Construction Laborer
The Construction Laborer must be able to operate and maintain the light duty equipment and have the training and experience to do so. The Laborer is required to shovel, sweep, load and unload materials. Some heavy lifting will be necessary. The Laborer will be required to place and remove culverts, help with fueling and greasing of equipment, and help with traffic control. The Construction Laborer will also be flexible in his/her schedule to work at the crusher, hot plant, unloader, shop, or any other division of the Company as needed. At all times the Construction Laborer must conduct himself and operate his equipment in a safe manner to promote safety for everyone.

Construction Flagger
The Construction Flagger must be South Dakota Department of Transportation certified. The Flagger is responsible for the proper use of signing and operating a pilot car to meet SD DOT requirements and to promote safety for all crew members on the job, as well as the general public traveling through the construction zone. A valid drivers license is required to operate the pilot car. The Construction Flagger is also required to perform the duties of a construction laborer as necessary.

Paving Crew Leader
The Paving Crew Leader is responsible for maintaining and running equipment at the job site as needed and must have the training and experience to do so. This position must oversee every aspect of the job to include proper elevations; using the correct quantities of materials on the job; proper application of materials, etc.; and maintaining an efficient and productive crew at all times. Distributor Operator
The Distributor Operator position requires the operator to have a current commercial drivers license (CDL) with hazardous endorsement. The operator must be knowledgeable in the process of loading and unloading oils; maintenance of the distributor; application of the oils to roads, lots, etc. The Distributor Operator will also have responsibilities of flagging and operating the pilot car as needed at job sites, as well as any related duties that may be necessary. As needed, this position will assume any other truck driving duties to include transporting equipment; haul materials; tarp the load if necessary; maintain vehicle; and any other trucking needs that may be necessary. During down time, truck driver positions are also required to flag and operate pilot cars when needed, as well as any related duties that may be necessary.

Paving Equipment Operator
The Paving Equipment Operator must have the training and knowledge to operate and maintain any piece of equipment he/she operates. All operators are required to conduct their own equipment safety checks daily. At all times the Equipment Operator must conduct himself and operate his equipment in a safe manner to promote safety for everyone. Paving Equipment Operators are required to have maintenance, operation, and safety training before operating equipment.

Paving Laborer
The Paving Laborer must be able to operate and maintain the light duty equipment such as the mustang, power broom, pilot car, and rubber tire roller and have the training and experience to do so. The laborer is required to use a lute, shovel, broom, and help with fueling and greasing of equipment, and help with traffic control. The Paving Laborer will also be flexible in his/her schedule to work at the crusher, hot plant, unloader, shop, or any other division of the company as needed. At all times the Paving Laborer must conduct himself and operate his equipment in a safe manner to promote safety for everyone.

Paving Flagger
The Paving Flagger must be South Dakota Department of Transportation certified. Shop Technician
The Shop Technician is responsible for the mechanical repair of all company equipment. This technician must have mechanical experience in the areas of heavy and light duty construction equipment, all types of paving equipment, trucks, tractors, trailers, body shop repairs, body shop painting, etc. The Shop Technician will be required to perform mechanical repairs to equipment in the shop as well as in the field at job locations. It may be required for the Shop Technician that operates a service truck to have a commercial drivers license. At all times, the Shop Technician must maintain good housekeeping and a safe environment for himself and fellow employees to work in.

Unloading Operator
The Unloading Operator is responsible for the unloading of aggregates from the rail cars at the unloading site in the Lien yard as well as on location at job sites where required. The Unloading Operator will be responsible for the daily maintenance and operation of the unloading site components. The Unloading Operator must have the training and experience to operate an excavator to transfer aggregates from the rail cars into a hopper to convey to stockpile. Every precaution must be taken at the unloading site to ensure the safety of all employees.

Parts Manager
The Parts Manager is responsible for the management of parts and inventory. This position works directly with the equipment superintendent and the shop technicians to locate, buy parts, and distribute them to appropriate shop areas. The Parts Manager is in charge of the shop inventory, writes purchase orders, creates work orders, and works with the office personnel to compile the paperwork.

Tool Manager
The Tool Manager is responsible for the management of shop tools. This position hands out all tools to employees and keeps a record of the tools checked out and by whom. The Tool Manager is also responsible for the maintenance of broken tools, replacing them when necessary. The Tool Manager also performs functions in the shop as necessary.

Maintenance Person
The Maintenance Person is responsible for the shop and field office buildings and yard upkeep. This position will sweep the shop and field office floors, clean restrooms where required, collect and dump trash in dumpster, etc. The Maintenance Person will mow the grass areas in the yard and keep the yard picked up and clean. This position will perform functions as required and at the direction of the equipment superintendent.

Shop/Yard Laborer
The Shop/Yard Laborer will conduct manual tasks as required to include shoveling and washing equipment. The Shop/Yard Laborer will also run for parts for the shop technicians, etc.; and will require a valid drivers license.

Hot Plant Crew Leader/Operator
The Hot Plant Crew Leader/Operator is in charge of all day to day operations of the hot plant. This position includes overseeing plant personnel, ordering of all materials, maintenance of the plant, maintaining daily records of operation and completing necessary daily paperwork as required by the office. The Hot Plant Crew Leader/Operator will at all times be aware and promote a safe environment for anyone at or around the plant.

Hot Plant Ground Man
The Ground Man at the hot plant is in charge of daily maintenance under the direction of the hot plant crew leader/operator. This includes unloading oil transports, clean up, working with truck drivers while entering and loading material. The Ground Man is required to assist the crew leader/operator with the operation of the plant, must be aware of the surroundings, keep a close watch for any possible problem, and immediately report any problem to the crew leader/operator. The Ground Man must be trained and be able to operate a skid steer loader. The Hot Plant Ground Man will at all times be aware and promote a safe environment for anyone at or around the plant.

Hot Plant Equipment Operator
The Hot Plant Equipment Operator is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the hot plant loader, and must have the training and experience to do so. The Hot Plant Equipment Operator’s main function is to keep the cold feed bins filled with aggregates and to have the knowledge to use the correct types of aggregates. As time permits, this position also pushes up stockpile from the rail car unloading, and loads trucks and outside customer sales when necessary. The Hot Plant Equipment Operator also keeps watch of the hot plant equipment and operation and reports any problems to the hot plant crew leader/operator. To maintain safety for everyone, the Equipment Operator must always be aware of the activity in the yard, as personnel and trucks are continuously in the area.

Crusher Crew Leader/Operator
The Crusher Crew Leader/Operator is in charge of all day to day operations of the crusher. This position includes overseeing crusher personnel, making sure the crusher has adequate material available to crush, maintenance of the crusher, maintaining daily records of operation and completing necessary daily paperwork as required by the office. The Crusher Crew Leader/Operator will at all times be aware and promote a safe environment for anyone at or around the crusher. This position has the responsibility, along with the Safety Director, of ensuring that the company's safety policies as well as all MSHA and OSHA regulations are being met.

Crusher Equipment Operator
The Crusher Equipment Operator is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the loaders and track hoes, etc., and must have the training and experience to do so. The Crusher Equipment Operator’s main function is to supply the crusher with adequate pit material to continue operation. As time permits, this position also pushes up stockpile, and loads trucks when necessary. The Crusher Equipment Operator also keeps watch of the crushing operation and reports any problems to the crusher crew leader/operator. To maintain safety for everyone, the Equipment Operator must always be aware of the activity in the pit, as personnel and trucks are continuously in the area.

Crusher Laborer
The Laborer at the crusher site is responsible for the daily maintenance under the direction of the crusher crew leader/operator to include shoveling and clean up. The Crusher Laborer is required to assist the crew leader/operator with the operation of the crusher, must be aware of the surroundings, keep a close watch for any possible problem, and immediately report any problem to the crew leader/operator. The Crusher Laborer will at all times work cautiously to promote a safe environment for everyone at or around the crusher site.

Hauling Crew Leader
The Hauling Crew Leader will be in charge of the truck drivers. This position is responsible for hiring the drivers and providing proper training on operation and maintenance. The Hauling Crew Leader is also responsible for daily job assignments and discipline, and is required to promote safe driving habits and practices for the safety of company personnel and the general public. The Hauling Crew Leader must approve the truck driver’s time cards and hauling cards daily. This involves checking for correct job numbers, correct hours, etc. and completing proper paperwork for the office. The Hauling Crew Leader will work closely with the General Manager and superintendents to coordinate the daily trucking needs.

Truck Driver
The Truck Driver must possess a commercial drivers license (CDL) with the proper class and endorsements. The Truck Driver is required to undergo training prior to driving a company truck on their own, and as part of a South Dakota Department of Transportation requirement must be tested for drugs and alcohol prior to any driving for the company. The Truck Driver must conduct daily safety and maintenance inspections of their truck, and report any problems to the hauling crew leader. Truck Driver duties include transporting equipment, hauling materials, tarping the load if necessary, and any other trucking needs that may be necessary. During down time, Truck Driver positions are also required to flag and operate pilot cars when needed, as well as any related duties that may be necessary. The Truck Driver must at all times use safe driving habits and practices, always be aware of his/her surroundings, and promote safety for Company personnel and the general public.

Field Office Clerical
The Field Office Clerical duties include, but are not limited to the following:

It is the responsibility of the Field Office to see that materials are entered and received into the inventory system, to maintain the bill of materials in the computer system for proper pricing to jobs. It is also this person’s responsibility to help in ordering of materials and the releasing of train cars, to keep accurate records of yearly charge out of hot mix and granite material, to operate the scales and balance out scale tickets daily. To see that the scales throughout the company are tested for accuracy on a monthly basis. To assist in preparing government entities with their copies of scale tickets and forwarding to main office scale tickets with correct quantities for use in billing for sales.

Scale House Operators
The Scale House Operator duties include, but are not limited to the following:

To operate scales and see that all materials going in and out of the facilities are accounted for. To see that the scales are tested for accuracy once a month, this coordinated with main field office clerk. To see that tickets are totaled and accurate for the day and forwarded to the main field office clerk.

Controller
The job duties of the Controller are to oversee the day to day operations of the accounting department, which includes but is not limited to receivables, payables, payroll, job cost, materials, etc. He/she is responsible for the development and implementation of company policies that affect the accounting operation. He/she is responsible for the loan payments, depositing, transferring, check writing and balancing of all bank accounts. He/she is responsible for the preparation of the monthly financial statements and presentation to the owners in a timely manner. The review of insurance premiums and obtaining of competitive bids. The updating of the equipment list. Preparing and working with the outside auditors in reviewing the company financial records.

Office Clerical
The Office Clerical duties include, but are not limited to the following:

Obtaining and updating of all employment and personnel information in a permanent file on each employee and past employee. The preparation of all daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly payrolls and payroll reports needed or required by the company or government agency.

It is also their duty to review and input hauling card information, job reports, invoices for payment, and billings for receivables. The updating of the job number list, answering the telephone, sending and receiving of faxes, and meeting customers that come into the office to see someone. Clerical staff shall see that all licenses and permits are obtained as needed.

The review and the implementation of safety and training policy and procedures with the assistance of superintendents. To oversee that all OSHA and MSHA laws and policies are being met with the assistance of superintendents. To see that implementation of the drug testing requirements are completed and reported to AGC within prescribed time frame. Assist equipment superintendent with seeing personnel are CDL licensed in order for them to drive truck.

To assist the tool room with inventory records and work order charge outs. Record royalty and hired truck information for processing.

Estimator/Engineer
The Estimator/Engineer is responsible for gathering all job and equipment costs and compiling the data for use in the bidding process. This position researches publications and newspapers for upcoming projects and orders the plans. When the plans come in, the Estimator/Engineer looks over the project and gets proper
quotes, orders bonds, etc. Using the cost data, he/she puts together a cost estimate for the project.

Surveyor/Estimator
The Surveyor/Estimator is responsible for staking, aggregate testing and small estimate writing. The Surveyor/Estimator works with crew members with any questions they may have at the job site regarding the job estimate.

Sales Manager
Traveling area contacting new/existing customers promoting the company's services and following up on services completed.
