- To encourage employees to work safe and accident free.
- To promote employee "Team Work" when it comes to safety.
- Encourage group awareness and cooperation while not being penalized by other crews' mistakes.
- To achieve "0" reportable lost workdays while not discouraging accident reporting (reportable lost workdays as defined by Workers Compensation).
- To encourage employees who have lost workday injuries to return to work as soon as possible (in a modified capacity or job classification if needed).
- Lower workers' compensation rates by lowering the number of injuries.
- Increase the number of "Near Miss Reports" turned in by employees.
- Encourages drives to inspect and have trucks repaired to comply with DOT regulations.
- Frequently (weekly) remind and reward every employee involved for working safely.
- Encourage employees to submit ideas, in writing, that could increase production or help to improve work safety.
- To make the program fun, interesting and beneficial to all participants and their families.
